Becoming a member of Tucson-Roscommon Sister Cities is fun and affordable. Your annual membership fee is placed in a general operating fund that is used to plan events and cover the operating costs of the organization. While you don't need to be a member to participate in the activities of the organization, your membership does have some important advantages:

A quarterly newsletter highlighting the organization's activities and containing information about participation in upcoming events and programs.
Business Members receive advertisement in this publication along with copies for distribution
First notification and priority registration for all scheduled events.
Influence within the organization to promote personal interests and activities that also relate to our mission and goals. This applies to everyone from artists to politicians, educators to entrepreneurs, to name a few.

Along with the tangible benefits, members of the organization are interested in promoting the importance of cultural education and exchange. Members have a broad, dynamic vision of the Tucson community and understand the value in expressing that vision to the world. The Irish are known for their appreciation of cultural expression, with their own traditions firmly rooted in history, song, dance, art, and food. Many are surprised to learn that Tucson has a long history with the people of Ireland, tracing back to our foundation. Yet how often do these western Europeans get a chance to experience the drastically different customs of the American southwest? Tucson-Roscommon Sister Cities is the strongest conduit available for educating our friends overseas about the many treasures of the desert, while happily opening ourselves to everyday life on the Emerald Isle.

The globalized world is changing quickly and while the meaning of national boarders may diminish, the significance of cultural identity will continue to surge.
